The Director of Fundraising Operations will oversee the day-to-day execution of the campaign's fundraising program during the final months of a competitive congressional election cycle. This position will work closely with campaign leadership to ensure fundraising goals are met through effective donor management, candidate call time, event fundraising, prospect research, and overall finance operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced political environment. This individual will be responsible for keeping fundraising initiatives moving, maintaining accountability across the finance operation, and ensuring campaign leadership has the information necessary to make strategic fundraising decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage the campaign's day-to-day fundraising operations and finance calendar.
Coordinate and oversee candidate call time, including scheduling, donor research, briefing materials, follow-up, and tracking.
Maintain and manage donor pipelines, prospect lists, and fundraising databases.
Assist campaign leadership in developing and executing finance plans designed to meet fundraising goals.
Prepare fundraising reports, projections, and performance updates for campaign leadership.
Coordinate donor outreach, stewardship, and follow-up efforts.
Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, receptions, and finance committee activities.
Manage fundraising deadlines, project timelines, and operational priorities.
Coordinate finance interns, volunteers, and fundraising support staff.
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and data management across campaign fundraising platforms.
Identify opportunities to expand and improve fundraising performance.
Location is flexible. Preference will be given to candidates located in North Carolina or willing to spend time on the ground with the campaign. Hybrid and remote candidates with significant campaign fundraising experience will be considered.
Position expected to continue through December 2026.
Requirements
Previous political fundraising experience required.
Experience with congressional, statewide, federal, or large-scale political campaigns strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with NGP, ActBlue, donor management systems, and candidate call time programs strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with campaign leadership, consultants, and staff.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a political environment.
Experience managing volunteers, interns, or fundraising teams is preferred.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as campaign demands require.
Familiarity with federal campaign finance operations and compliance procedures is a plus.
Commitment to Democratic values and interest in electing Democratic candidates.
