The Community Engagement Coordinator is essential in building connections and creating meaningful opportunities for foster, adoptive, and kinship families throughout Oklahoma. This role involves organizing impactful community, fundraising, and training events to ensure families receive the resources and support they need. Additionally, the coordinator cultivates relationships with stakeholders and community partners to strengthen collaboration and expand support networks.
Primary Responsibilities
Event Coordination:
Plan and manage community events across Oklahoma, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
Establish and manage the FCAO presence at events, promote sponsors, and provide activities.
Track RSVPs, attendance, and participant demographics.
Monitor event expenditures and maintain accurate records of receipts.
Key Events:
Retreats: Multi-day retreats designed for rest, connection, and rejuvenation.
Family Activities/Events: Events designed for foster and adoptive families.
Support Groups & Meetups: Regular meetings offering emotional and physical support opportunities.
Annual Training Event- Assist in planning the Annual Training Event, including logistics and securing speakers.
Development Assistance:
Support the Annual Fundraiser and other fundraising initiatives- Assist in planning, securing sponsorships, obtaining donations, and managing logistics.
Requirements
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effortlessly with others and maintain a confident, engaging presence.
Proven experience in event planning (nonprofit experience a plus).
Exceptional organizational, time-management, and written communication skills.
Proficiency with basic design tools.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Genuine passion for supporting foster and adoptive families.
Travel Requirements
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Oklahoma City metro area (OKC).
Weekend work may be required for events (ranging from a few hours to full-day commitments).
Travel across Oklahoma will be necessary for event coordination and support.
