Watertown Country Club, originally built in 1923, is a private club with over 100 years of history as a key part of the community. We have a championship golf course with pristine greens & fairways, quality practice areas, a full-service restaurant and bar that's open to the public, and event space for up to 200. In 2026, we will be hosting a US Amateur qualifier, Wisconsin State Amateur qualifier, and a Wisconsin PGA section event.
As a Golf Professional, you'll be in charge of running a top-notch golf operation that brings people together and makes good memories. That means handling a busy member event schedule to keep everyone happy, growing our outside events to be the best-run golf outings around, building a strong junior program, stocking the golf shop with new and popular gear, and leading a lively, helpful staff that gets the job done right.
Summary:
The Golf Professional role is responsible for the day-to-day running of the golf operations. With the 4 main activities being: tee-sheet and event management, sales (greens fees and membership), player service department, and shop merchandising. The Pro manages the policies and procedures for employees, instills a culture of customer service throughout the golf operation and is the first and last defense on quality control. This role reports to the General Manager. A robust member golf program is required for all levels of memberships and skill. Golf instruction is encouraged and part of the potential compensation.

The ability to utilize modern technologies (computer: Microsoft Office and POS systems) and programs in managing workplace procedures
Be naturally organized in goal setting, project planning, prioritizing, as well as managing stakeholder relations, budgets and timeframes
Comprehension of golf related sales, rounds of golf, group outings, corporate and fundraising events, stay and play packages and golf merchandise
Will project the company brand of professionalism, fun, relationship building and positive results, in their appearance and demeanor, both externally (with members and in public), and internally to fellow staff
Essential Responsibilities
Maintains PGA Membership/Associate status
Monitors the performance of all daily operations, functions and services; assures high standards and total customer satisfaction.
Creates a culture of high quality, friendly and accommodating customer service
Maintains tee-sheet
Executes training for shop staff, player service, rangers and starters as well as hiring and disciplinary actions.
Delegates daily operations responsibilities to qualified employees.
Monitors and drives golf shop revenue for merchandise, rounds of golf, cart revenue and corporate functions.
Sells membership and maintains accurate records of membership at the Club, coordinates regularly with office personnel.
Meets, greets, and welcomes prospective customers/ members.
Attends committee meetings at the request of the General Manager.
Oversee rental and maintenance of golf carts fleet.
Tracks and verifies all players and guests, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate proper controls.
Enforces all rules and regulations governing course usage and upholds knowledge of USGA rules of golf.
Develops and manages an innovative tournament program that services all member/guest segments.
Completes bi-weekly payroll by noon Tuesday.
Remuneration and working hours:
50 hours per week in-season, flexibility in off-season
Working at facility, out of office work and community involvement expected
