The Marketing & Events Intern plays a key role in supporting First Tee - South Central Wisconsin's mission by assisting with youth programming, social media content, summer golf activities, and special events. This internship is ideal for a motivated, organized individual who enjoys working with kids, has an interest in marketing or communications, and wants hands-on experience in event planning and nonprofit programming.

Experience working with youth, events, or social media preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Flexible, and willing to help wherever needed
Interest in marketing, communications, sports, or nonprofit work
Golf knowledge is preferred but not required
Must have reliable personal transportation for visiting program locations
Essential Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Social Media & Communications
Assist with creating and scheduling social media content related to programs, events, and community outreach
Capture photos and short videos during programs and events (as permitted)
Comfortable and confident appearing on camera
Help maintain consistent branding and positive messaging across platforms
Program & Event Planning Support
Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of summer golf programming and special events
Support event logistics, including schedules, materials, volunteer coordination, and on-site setup
Help ensure programs and events run smoothly, safely, and on schedule
Youth Program Support
Assist with setup, breakdown, and delivery of youth programming sessions
Help create a safe and positive environment for participants
Support coaches, staff, and volunteers during program activities
Administrative & Office Support
Assist with participant registration, tracking, and database updates
Help with scheduling, communications, and basic program reporting
Provide general administrative and office support as needed
Location
The primary work location is the First Tee - South Central Wisconsin John Flesch Golf & Academic Center, located at 2819 Royal Ave., Madison, WI 53713.
Frequent short distance travel will be required to support and visit program locations.
Schedule & Time Commitment
Hours: 30 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Duties and schedule subject to change based on program needs.) Duration: May through August (exact start/end dates flexible)
Compensation: $600 per week, paid bi-weekly Reports to: Sr. Director of Golf & Academic Development
