OverviewAbout the WPGA Junior Foundation The foundation is a 501c3 organization. Our mission is to promote the game of golf by providing positive opportunities, enjoyment, and education to Wisconsin junior golfers and their families. We accomplish this through our tournament series and player development programs thereby allowing us to provide scholarships and grants to deserving participants.
NEW POSITION TITLE: Junior Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of WPGA Section and Director of Junior Golf
STATUS: Full time exempt employee
LOCATION: Milwaukee, WI
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking to hire a new staff member for the WPGA Junior Foundation. This hire will primarily assist in administering over 150 junior events. This would include being onsite during events, working with interns and rules officials, and providing service to both our juniors and our PGA Members. This candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, hard-working and be able to manage various projects simultaneously.
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a passion for the game of golf. Participation in the game is a plus
- Minimum of two years of tournament administration experience, preferably with a PGA Section or allied golf association
- Skills in planning and organizing, event management and managing multiple priorities
- Strong moral character and integrity with leadership qualities
- Proficient computer skills including familiarity with G Suite by Google, Canva, Social media platforms, Adobe products, MS Office suite and ability to quickly become literate with MailChimp, Word Press, Workday and BlueGolf systems. Prior experience with BlueGolf is a plus.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with fellow staff members
- Lead and manage staff in a respectful and efficient manner
- Travel throughout the state of Wisconsin and work extended hours including some weekends and evenings
- Present self in a professional manner and appearance
- Team player motivated by the success of the organization over any personal gain
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Essential Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in scheduling of WPGA Junior Tour, Players Tour, Future Tour, Par 3 events, etc.
- Communicate with tournament sites for events setup
- Responsible for marketing all junior golf programs with Director of Junior Golf
- Responsible for management of all financial aspects of junior golf programs including budgets, invoices, expense reports, ordering of awards and or tee gifts
- On site tournament work (Course Marking, Setup, Local Rules, etc.)
- Utilize BlueGolf tournament software to administer all foundation run tournaments and oversee communication with
BlueGolf support staff as needed - Manage and assist with training our full-time summer interns and player assistants
- Coordinate membership program of over 1,500 juniors
- Compile data for the Player of the Year points system
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with professional events such as Wisconsin State Open and WPGA Championship along with spring/fall events
- Assist in coordinating/administering Drive, Chip & Putt/PGA HOPE
- Plan and implement social media calendar for foundation events and work with section on event social postings
- Assist with WPGA meetings
- Assist, develop and manage WPGA Junior Foundation partnerships
- Create marketing plan for WPGA Junior Foundation license plate
