Description

An incumbent US Senator is looking to hire a full-time national finance director to oversee all aspects of a major traditional fundraising program. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and experience with Democratic donors, federal campaigns, and high-level principals. This job is remote, but regular travel to Washington, DC, is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 cycles of fundraising for Democratic campaigns (particularly US Senate campaigns)
  • Expertise in writing, building, and executing a national finance plan 
  • Experience overseeing finance staffers and consultants
  • Demonstrated ability to plan campaign fundraisers, large and small, from start to finish
  • Experience staffing principals in donor meetings and at political events
  • Significant knowledge of a candidate call time program
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Access to reliable transportation (and a valid driver’s license)
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed
  • Advanced proficiency with NGP VAN, ActBlue, Microsoft Office, Google Docs





Requirements

  • Oversee the entire finance program, including direct mail consultant and digital fundraising consultants
  • Think and act creatively about how to expand the Senator’s donor network
  • Plan fundraising events, meetings, and travel in-state, in DC, and nationally
  • Manage a call time program focusing on high-dollar targets
  • Staff the Senator at campaign meetings and events
  • Work with the compliance team to ensure that all fundraising is according to state and federal laws
  • Work with the Senator’s official-side staff to schedule campaign-side events and meetings
  • Update and improve a finance plan, including coordinating in-state and national meetings and travel
  • Provide fundraising information to assist with budget and cash flow
  • Assisting with other campaign-related activities as needed
