Description
St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a Director of Philanthropic Advising. This position is responsible for major gift fundraising, with annual goals of 120 donor visits and at least $1,000,000 in secured gifts and pledges. The individual will lead, coach, and manage Advancement staff while cultivating relationships and generating philanthropic support from alumni, parents, and friends of St. Norbert College.
This position is based on campus and requires regular in-person presence. The role also involves frequent travel (approximately 30%), often including overnight stays.
Specific responsibilities:
- Build and manage a portfolio of major donors capable of making major gifts (defined as commitments of $50,000+); cultivate relationships, align donor interests with college priorities, and personally solicit gifts.
- Lead, coach, and manage Advancement staff to achieve fundraising goals; set and evaluate performance objectives and foster professional growth.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies in collaboration with college leadership, faculty, staff, volunteers, and alumni; mentor team members in prospect research, proposal preparation, and stewardship.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all donor interactions and outcomes.
- Actively participate in team meetings, events, and professional development activities.

Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Commitment to a mission-driven environment that is aligned with Catholic, Norbertine, and liberal arts values.
- 10+ years in areas such as fundraising, relationship management, sales, banking, finance, legal services, business development, public relations, or communications.
- Experience in personnel management.
- Valid Driver’s License Required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to plan strategically, set priorities, and achieve goals independently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with success in cross-functional partnerships.
- Results-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience developing and executing strategies to align team and institutional objectives.
