Description
Precision Politics is hiring a part-time freelance fundraiser on behalf of a North Carolina State House incumbent Democrat (Cumberland County/Fayetteville area) for the March 3, 2026, primary.
You'll manage a comprehensive fundraising program. The incumbent has over 25,000 previous donors, mostly small-dollar contributions, and at least seven lists of potential new donors who have contributed to similar races. You'll structure and execute a fundraising program using candidate call time, text messaging, and email. You'll work directly with the candidate and the political strategist directing the campaign.

Call Time Management:
- Prepare and prioritize call lists with suggested ask amounts
- Set up and manage an auto dialer system
- Coordinate the candidate's call time schedule (3-4 sessions per week)
- Check in before each session to ensure the candidate is prepared
- Send follow-up texts/emails after all call attempts
Note: You won't be expected to monitor every call session. The candidate will need occasional guidance and check-ins, but you won't spend hours on a call while she makes donor calls.
Text & Email Fundraising:
- Write fundraising text messages
- Coordinate with the texting vendor on timing, images, and delivery
- Manage monthly email sends through existing vendor (5,000/month included)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify PACs and lobbyists relevant to the candidate's committee assignments.
- Help coordinate 3-5 small high-dollar house parties in January
Hours & Timeline:
- Setup phase (December-early January): 15-20 hours/week
- Ongoing (January-March): 12-18 hours/week
- Potential to continue through the November 2026 general election
Requirements
Required:
- 1-2 cycles of campaign fundraising experience
- Experience managing candidate call time
- Experience managing text and email fundraising programs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable holding the candidate accountable to the call time schedule
- Availability for check-ins during candidate call time, as needed (typically 3:30-7:30 PM ET, 3-4 days/week)
Preferred:
- Ability to write clear, compelling fundraising copy
- Experience with ActBlue and Grassroots Analytics
- Familiarity with auto dialers and texting platforms
- State legislative or down-ballot campaign experience
- North Carolina political knowledge (helpful but not required)
